Enigmatic London artist Jimothy Lacoste has unveiled his new EP ‘Jimothy’s House Party Package 1’, out now.
A four-track release, ‘Jimothy’s House Party Package 1’ signals a departure from the charming DIY production of his previous singles, instead shifting towards a UKG-flavoured sound that’s no less endearing. Opener ‘Describe A Vibe’ is a prime example of this, pairing Jimothy’s trademark flow and witty lyricism with a bumping bassline production.
Next up, ‘Always Party’ trades in the UKG energy for a classic electro vibe, with Jimothy’s romance-tinged lyrics proving an ideal match for the smooth beats. ‘Blackbox’ then channels fresh, carefree house energy, as Jimothy assumes the unlikely persona of a London cabbie.
Closing things out is ‘Describe My Life’, Jimothy’s recent single that again sees his slick flow paired with an infectious old-school UKG beat. The playful, exhilarating official video accompanying the track sees Jimothy soaring through his native London in the passenger side of a convertible, vibing on a rooftop bar, and even busting some trademark dance moves whilst semi-naked in a pond.
Speaking on the EP, Jimothy says, “Jimothy’s House Party Package is about focusing on having fun, dancing, loving, being peaceful, and focusing on the prescient moment. It’s a new sound but still classic, keeping life relaxing/exciting.”
He will also embark on his Let’s Leave Earth Tour this September, with performances at London’s Village Underground (21st), Bristol’s Exchange (22nd), and Manchester’s The Deaf Institute (24th).
Armed with a cache of self-produced iPad beats, deadpan vocals and effortless style, Jimothy Lacoste burst onto the scene in 2018 with a steady stream of lauded singles, including ‘Getting Busy!’, ‘FUTURE BAE’, ‘I Can Speak Spanish’ and ‘Subway System’. He has continued his ascent in the years since, performing at Glastonbury and Field Day amongst others.
