The Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist sister duo Larkin Poe are on a high following the reaction to their album ‘Blood Harmony’. Achieving their strongest Official UK Chart positions to date – #3 on Americana, #5 on Independent Albums,#10 on both Album Sales and Album Downloads – it also set them on course for their biggest UK shows to date. The sisters, Rebecca and Megan Lovell, made a big impression as guests to Guns ‘n’ Roses at the BTS Festival in Hyde Park in June, and will return to these shores next month for a major headline tour that culminates with a prestigious London show at the Roundhouse.

Now Larkin Poe share a raw new acoustic version of the fan favourite ‘Bad Spell’. The track is the first to be taken from their new EP ‘An Acoustic Companion’, which follows on October 5th. The EP consists of stripped-back acoustic arrangements of three key songs that originally featured on the ‘Blood Harmony’ album, as well as a new version of ‘Stubborn Love’ from their debut record ‘Kin’. Rebecca says, “In our world, almost all of our songs start out acoustic, with quiet beginnings at the kitchen table on an acoustic guitar. In recording ‘An Acoustic Companion’ we really enjoyed stripping a handful of our songs back down to their roots and we hope folks will enjoy getting an earful of these songs as they originally came into being.”

Megan adds, “From the jump, ‘Bad Spell’ was intended to be a big, bad, swaggy rock song, but we’ve found that there’s nothing more creatively freeing than challenging and burning down one’s own preconceived notions. We did just that in re-envisioning the arrangement for ‘Bad Spell’ and letting it bloom into new life.”

‘An Acoustic Companion’ is now available to pre-order or pre-save HERE. A limited edition 7” vinyl format will also be available at shows during the duo’s upcoming UK and European headline tour, as well as from their official UK and US stores.

Long hailed as one of hardest working live acts on the road today, Larkin Poe are currently embarking on the 2023 leg of their epic ‘Blood Harmony’ tour. Their current North American run includes a handful of festival headline sets, before they commence their European dates in Trondheim, Norway on October 6th.
