Lily Moore release new single ‘Beautiful Lie’

Lily Moore had a triumphant return with single, Hard Days Love, follow-up track Beautiful Lie is out today via Believe

Lily Moore had a triumphant return with single, Hard Days Love, follow-up track Beautiful Lie is out today via Believe. Produced by The Nocturns (Caity Baser, Declan J Donovan) the emotional song opens with Lily’s rich and commanding vocals, and builds to a powerful chorus. Listen here.

The pop powerhouse has also revealed the music video today. Teaming up once again with director Claryn Chong (Holly Humberstone, flowerovlove, Tommy Lefroy), the visuals were captured in just one shot! The video sees Lily sipping on a colourful cocktail whilst lounging on a giant pink inflatable flamingo, which is floating on murky waters. Watch here

The songstress explains, “I wrote this song originally after a friend of mine got cheated on. They said how at least when they were being lied to they were happy, and it got me thinking about all the beautiful lies we tell ourselves and get told when we grow up that don’t end up coming true.

It felt like a song I really needed to write for myself and my friends and people my age who have constantly been messed about. Growing up post Brexit when we weren’t old enough to vote and to say no, post Covid and realising that maybe none of us will ever afford a house – no matter how hard we work, despite what we were told.

I wanted the video to look glamorous and relaxing until it zooms out – like when you post an Instagram photo in the sea and everyone thinks your somewhere expensive and far away but actually you’re in fucking Dover. The video starts off with me relaxing and having a little sip on my blue lagoon – before gradually revealing I’m sat in a shithole pond in Woking.”

January saw Lily release her long-awaited single, Hard Days Love, alongside the music video which can be seen here. The track was the London-based artist’s first musical offering since her More Moore mixtape, featuring Maverick Sabre (on track In-between) and Dan Caplen. Hard Days Love was added to a whopping 250+ playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and more, upon release. It also received solid radio support, including on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop With Mollie King.

The Brighton-born artist has risen through the ranks since her debut EP, Not That Special was released in 2018. Lily’s previous releases were met with critical acclaim from tastemakers such as the Guardian, Clash and The Line Of Best Fit to name a few. She has played festivals such as The Great Escape, Barn on the Farm, Standon Calling and Boardmasters, and has supported the likes of Tom Grennan, Honne, James Bay, George Ezra and more. The singer-songwriter has also previously played a full sold out UK headline tour, which included a show at London’s Village Underground. Lily has racked up 60 million+ combined streams, and 3.2+ million views on YouTube.
