South London singer-songwriter Lola Young harmonises hook-laden tales of vulnerability over ambient electronic beats. She started writing music when she was 11, and by the age of 13 had already won a national open mic competition. With music being her passion, she went on to attend The BRIT School (Amy Winehouse, Rex Orange County) where she spent her time finding herself creatively and stylistically.

Young’s strong musical prowess partly comes from her dedication to finetuning her abilities as a performer and resilience in knowing what she wants with her sound. This shines through in bittersweet ‘Blind Love’, a sombre reflection of a failed relationship haunted by stripped-back vocals and airy keys. Her influences of Joni Mitchell, Prince, Frank Ocean and Anderson .Paak are all lyricists first, citing their poetism as a major inspiration when writing.
