Never alone amongst friends, lostboy grew their circle and grew during last year’s run of word-of-mouth, sweatbox gigs, releases, radio play and heavy streaming and now the Sheffield four-piece, led by enigmatic ringmaster, Max Clutterbuck get the growing gang back together for a six-date UK Tour and new single – Weight. Cascades of cut-glass guitar, rumble-strip percussion and Clutterbuck’s wit and wonder, Pennine-lilting delivery form a smoking volcano of contemplative, radio-ready indie.

Drawn from a new, five-track EP titled Love Among Angry People, released on limited edition vinyl and digital formats on Fri 6 May 2022, lostboy’s ejector-seat propulsion out of South Yorkshire and into UK-wide venues seems set to accelerate further with Weight’s self-assured take on the fact that everything, sometimes, gets a bit too much.

Locking in tour dates on incrementally bigger stages, kicking off in Leeds on Tue 3 May 2022 and concluding in Birmingham just over a week later on Sat 14 May 2022, the band set stratospheric ambitions with every finely-tuned, pulse-quickening song. Yet, it’s harsh reality and hanging onto hope that remain ‘social misfit’ Clutterbuck’s main lyrical pre-occupations, meaning each searing guitar solo and goosebump-bringing chorus is cut with conscience and compassion.

Of Weight, produced by Alex Quinn (SPINN, She Drew The Gun) and the band’s first new music since their debut Bad News EP last summer, Clutterbuck says: “We all have worries. Worry for the world and how we treat it, worry for our loved ones during a global pandemic, worry for over population, worry for what this year may hold and what of the year after that? I can only imagine that, for the young people trying to grow during this time, that weight must be immense. ‘Weight’ is about my wish to leave any weight I carry behind heading into this New Year.”

The run up to what the band promise is an even more complex collection of songs in the zeitgeist-cornering Love Among Angry People EP, containing five fresh tracks, will be punctuated by further single releases and the countdown to lostboy’s keenly-anticipated run of live appearances, which are newly confirmed as follows:
