Today, Aby shares her new track ‘Maybe’ via her own independent Chamomile Records label. Listen HEREIt’s a downtempo R&B slowburner, which provides the perfect vehicle for Aby to express a different side to her vocal gift. Her rich, pensive tone encapsulates her reflective lyricism, which uses music as a meditative inspiration for seeking an inner strength and maintaining hope for what’s to come.

“‘Maybe’ was written at a time when I was going through a lot at home with my family,” says Aby. “I used that time to record a lot of music to get my mind away from what was happening at home. I was able to get all of my emotions out into the music. The song is about not being afraid to be unapologetically yourself, to have hope about the future and that better days will come, despite how you may be feeling at that moment in time.”

Aby Coulibaly has been passionate about music since she was a child. Inspired by the iconic Erykah Badu, her core style is alternative R&B but her sound explores a spectrum of genres, as evidenced by her admiration for Lauryn Hill, James Blake and Empire of the Sun. Songwriting is a cathartic experience for her, as she pours the emotions of a moment into songs that naturally speak to young people everywhere as they transition into adulthood.

Aby Coulibaly emerged from seemingly out of nowhere with her debut track ‘Taurus’. The 21-year-old Irish singer-songwriter is a rare example of a new artist with a fully-formed vision. Between her honeyed, versatile vocals and the song’s relatable tale of overcoming a lost love with the help of your friends, it fired up her reputation.

The original demo earned a following amongst those in the know, assisted by early shows at home in Dublin. The subsequent official release and video then pushed that buzz onto the global stage with key playlists including R&B UK, Lush + Ethereal and Sweet Soul Sunday at Spotify as well as Apple Music’s Chilled R&B
