NMF and here are 10 great tracks out today.

1. Ashton Merrygold shares video for ‘Emergency’

‘Emergency’ brings a soundsystem of energising elements into a track that sparkles with summertime spirit. It’s got the rhythmic mix of dancehall, and those pop flavours are revealed via a dash of ultra addictive hooks that hint at JLS’s chart-conquering years. As ever, Aston’s vocal magic is essential to unlocking the track’s potential, with his enlivening mix of Motown soul and bold British personality.

Summer is finally here! So I thought no better way to celebrate than to give the people the summer jam emergency! I’ve had this song a little while so you can’t imagine how happy I am that people are now able to hear it and have it! says Aston.

2. Bella Poarch and Sub Urban unleash their hypnotizing new single ‘INFERNO’

Poised to become yet another viral success for the two breakthrough artists, the new song makes its debut alongside a cinematic official video featuring nearly twenty guest appearances from their viral inner circle, including Bretman Rock, Pokimane, Valkyrae, TommyInnit, Adin Ross, and more.

Over the past year, the pair have found an incredible chemistry together, as Sub Urban produced Bella’s monumental music debut – the explosive single ‘Build a Bitch’, which smashed the record for the biggest debut EVER on YouTube, entering both the Global and US YouTube charts at #1, with over 75 million first week video views and more than 270 million to date.

3. Litany shares new single ‘Adult Movies’

The next step for the newly levelled up Litany comes  today as she shares her brand new single ‘Adult Movies’ from her new EP of the same name, which is also out now. Listen HERE.

Litany has a gift for painting specific memories as if she’s commenting on them live, which makes ‘Adult Movies’ engaging from its very first line. Two friends are drunk, high and watching adult movies ironically, which inevitably leads to more intimacy than either of them had planned. And then lust leads to love in the most unexpected of ways. It’s a song that feels like the story to ‘Sleepover’ told from a different perspective.

Litany says, “Neither I or my best friend had voiced that we’d been harbouring feelings for one another in the months leading up to New Year’s Eve but introduce a load of drink, kitchen scissor haircuts and soft porn movies and naturally we ended up sleeping together (it was awesome). A few days later, I was just sat smiling in bed recalling all the cute and crazy shit we did that night, applied a melody and a couple hours later ‘Adult Movies’ was born.”

4. Jack In Water releases

In the lead up to the release of his debut album, You Don’t Feel Like Home, out August 27th, Jack In Water has released the poignant animated video for his emotionally raw new and final single before album release, ‘Everyone Will Be Lost’.

The track, featuring a soaring string section and William Clapson’s beautiful vocal, explores grasping the concept of death and loss for the first time in life from the perception of a child. The accompanying animated video by Sarina Nihei (Whitney), perfectly captures the essence of childhood innocence on a dark, inevitable topic that affects us all.

“I wanted the last video to be different from the other songs as it was about a very specific memory,” William Clapson reflected. “The video in animation just made sense to me and I had also wanted to work with Sarina Nihei for a while as she has the ability to create this other world. The video is a distorted fever dream of a memory of the conversation my mum and I had about death when I was about 6 or 7.”

5. Michael Aldag releases new single ‘Tonsillitis’

Michael Aldag: a singer and a songwriter (but not a singer-songwriter), a producer, an accidental TikTok star and every inch a total popstar. Having only just begun his music career, Michael has already sold out shows in Liverpool and London (including a headline slow at BBC Introducing) with a further headline tour confirmed in May next year.

The start of Michael’s career saw him secure a place on the Liverpool branch of the Levi’s Music Project, a music accelerator scheme that saw him performing at fashion launches in Brussels and Barcelona, and a spot at the LIMF Academy, which selects and supports Merseyside-based artists. During this time he’s been recording a steady stream of music, including his upcoming single ‘Tonsillitis’ which is set for release on 13th August. ‘Tonsillitis’ came about during a bleak period in 2020, when Michael lost a close family member then soon after discovered his girlfriend had been cheating on him. “Tonsillitis is the most personal song I’ve ever written,” says Michael. “I was very low and very alone, but these days I can go back to that song and think: ‘Well, that was how bad I was feeling then, and now I’m feeling better about it’ — it’s a good port of call for any difficult future situations I find myself in.”

“My music’s for anybody who feels slightly-to-constantly overwhelmed and unsure of who they are, flailing around in this massive ridiculous world,” he states, and when you go in search of that music you’ll find another bio, on streaming services, that promises: “If you like hearing ginger boys whining over some synths then you’re going to love me.” Totally Michael Aldag.

6. Shaded share new track ‘My Nightmare’

Alt/pop trio SHADED have just released their brand new heart-wrenching single, My Nightmare. Led by frontman Matt East’s gentle and restrained yet soaring vocals, the track builds and culminates in the final chorus which is performed with vigour. The cinematic video perfectly encapsulates the urgency carried in East’s heart-on-sleeve lyrics. It sees him manically running away and seemingly dealing with something impalpable. The video will revealed tonight at 9pm on YouTube.

Matt has explained of the track, “My Nightmare is a play on what is real and what we see and tell ourselves in our minds. Addressing a toxic past relationship, the song portrays that feeling of insanity when under manipulation, and how you can begin to question everything about yourself in that situation. The track and theme take a spooky horror-film-like approach in its tonality, production and video.” Listen to My Nightmare here.

7. Ryan Sheridan releases ‘Fine Wine’

Ryan Sheridan has shared a brand new single ahead of his first gig in two years, and it’s as gripping as his back catalogue of gems. ‘Fine Wine’ beat the likes of fellow contemporaries Dermot Kennedy and Ed Sheeran to No.1 on the iTunes chart when it landed.

The new song is an Americana country-tinged track which heads in a new direction for Sheridan; one which the musician intends to explore further on his forthcoming third album for Rubyworks Records.

Initially finding success as a busker, the multi-instrumentalist has built up a reputation as one of the country’s most popular performers – releasing two acclaimed albums, The Day You Live Forever and Here and Now, through Rubyworks.

8. Issey Cross releases Tired Of Everybody

Having established herself as an important new artist on the UK scene, London based fast riser Issey Cross builds the buzz around her name with the reveal of Tired Of Everybody. Produced by The Six ( Troy Sivan, Tate McRae, Jess Glynne), the shimmering left pop cut showcases the unique vocals and refreshingly open songwriting which has already seen her grab attention. Speaking on the track, she states:

I wrote this song when lockdown finally ended and it’s about going out to see people for the first time but actually just feeling overwhelmed with social anxiety and thinking I’d rather be at home by myself! I hope everyone can relate to it in some way or maybe it’s just me!’

9. Jamie Miller releases ‘Here’s Your Perfect’ with Salem Ilese

Singer-songwriter Jamie Miller has shared a stunning duet rendition of his global smash single “Here’s Your Perfect,” performed alongside co-writer & viral pop vocalist Salem Ilese

Born and raised in Wales, Miller cites early musical inspiration from gospel, R&B, and soul classics fostered by parents (including the catalogues of Donny Hathaway and Michael Jackson) before discovering and honing his voice to modern talents such as Bruno Mars, Sam Smith & others. Initially timid in nature, Miller shied away publicly from his natural talent until the age of 18 when he mustered up the courage to relocate to London and appear for the first time on UK broadcast television in 2017.

10. Joel Corrie and Jax Jones release ‘Out Out’ feat Charli XCX and Saweetie

Joel Corry and Jax Jones are back with powerhouse new single ‘OUT OUT’, featuring inimitable pop trailblazer, Charli XCX, and breakout Cali rapper, Saweetie – listen HERE.

As two of the UK’s leading dance producers of the last two years – Joel boasted 2020’s longest-running consecutive UK #1 with ‘Head & Heart’ ft. MNEK and Jax’s debut album ‘Snacks’ was the UK’s best selling dance record of 2019 – the pair have been instrumental in shaping the UK’s contemporary electronic landscape, and show no signs of letting up on ‘OUT OUT’.

Lifting a sample from Stromae’s late ‘00s dance classic ‘Alors On Danse’ and re-booting it fresh for 2021, ‘OUT OUT’ is party music at its very best; fun, carefree and totally addictive. Complete with iconic guest features from none other than Charli XCX and Saweetie – who was recently nominated for Top Rap Female Artist at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards alongside Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion – ‘OUT OUT’ feels every bit a 24-carat summer anthem in waiting.
