It’s the best of times to be Scouting For Girls. In recent weeks, the crowd-pleasing indie-pop trio have been adding new favourites to their rich back catalogue – the spiky pop-punk of ‘Missing Part’ and the nostalgia title track to their upcoming album ‘The Place We Used To Meet’ – as well as darting across the country to bring the festival fun factor to the Isle of Wight, Standon Calling, Kendal Calling, Camp Bestival and more. Their current resurgence continues unabated as they now share the new single ‘Glow’ ahead of the October 13th release of ‘The Place We Used To Meet’. Listen HERE.

‘Glow’ kicks off the album with equal parts reflection and pure unadulterated joy as Roy Stride sings, “I knew on the night I met you / When we kissed I could taste forever.” Some love stories are fleeting – a moment of magic that was never going to last – but this tale is one of a romance that stretches from youth and deep into adulthood, with no sign of ever fading. The music is just as uplifting, marrying the strident melodies and big hooks of the band’s biggest hits with an earworm synth motif that’s in tune with the modern pop landscape.

Roy says, “I thought ‘Glow’ was special the moment I wrote it, but it was only when everyone else around the band got excited that I really started to believe it. It’s the best song we’ve released since ‘This Ain’t a Love song’ I can’t wait for people to hear it!”

‘Glow’ is effectively the first chapter to a story that continues with ‘Missing Part’. Continuing that flying start, the first half of‘The Place Where We Used To Meet’ feels like a fresh ‘best of’ album before deeper cuts emerge in the second half, its songs – sometimes more reflective, sometimes more sombre – emerging interlinked in a continuous suite of music. The album is available to pre-save or pre-order HERE.
