Sløtface announce new album and tour

“Pop punch with the same rightful care as punk rebellion” – DIY

Following recent comeback singles ‘Telepathetic’‘Stuff’ and ‘Sink or Swim’, Norway’s Sløtface today announce news of their upcoming second album, Sorry for the Late Reply, due for release on 31st January 2020 via Propeller Recordings. The long-awaited LP marks the first time the band have acted as co-producers, as they worked alongside Odd Martin Skålnes (Sigrid, Aurora) in creating their most accomplished body of work to date.

Across its 13 tracks, Sorry for the Late Reply documents the band’s past few years, much of it spent touring the world in support of their acclaimed debut Try Not To Freak Out, with it’s subjects ranging from the personal to the political, something we’ve come to expect from a band often lauded for their lyrics’ distinct relatability.

After road-testing new songs in prisons across Norway as part of a nationwide arts initiative, the band’s follow up release is full of blistering punk fizz and earworm hooks, articulated by masterfully melancholic lyricism, touching on the personal effects of climate change, the mundanity of the everyday alongside a starkly honest musing on the aftermath of a break up.

Alongside today’s announcement, the band also share the new single and album opener ‘S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’. The explosive track is an anthemic call to arms, with vocalist Haley Shea repeating “you’re gonna be a success” across its chorus, reminding all that Sløtface remain a band to believe in as they believe in you too.

Previewing tracks from the upcoming record, the band will head out on a UK and European run with PUP this November, with tickets available now. Please see below for all upcoming dates and further info on the new LP. Pre-order here
