Swedish songwriter and producer Mei River releases his debut EP ‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’ with an accompanying visual via Columbia/Sony Music Germany. Listen to ‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’ here – https://meiriver.lnk.to/Tall_Trees_That_Never_Fell.

‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’ is the first solo project by Fredrik Eriksson aka Mei River. The five-track EP is a vulnerable exploration of young adulthood, covering topics including loneliness and prescription drug abuse packaged up in vibrant bedroom pop tracks with nods to funk and exotica. It contains singles ‘Her’, ‘Peter Parker’ and ‘17’, all released this year with accompanying visuals co-directed by Mei River himself. Today’s release also features two never heard before tracks – ‘A Story About Getting Lost’ and final track on the EP ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’.

Of the EP, Mei River says:

“The EP ‘Tall Trees That Never Fell’ is about the time when I hit rock bottom, close to falling and never standing up again. It’s about finding beauty in the darkness. I want to encourage people to never give up. It’s difficult, I know, but you’ll get out of it and won’t fall!”

Also release today is a short film that gives Mei River’s fans insight into the creation of his debut project. The three-minute long visual, which features narration by Eriksson, touches on his creative processes and explores the underlying themes of the EP and how it fits into the world around us today.
