Sam Fischer has announced two further versions of his global smash hit This City with new remixes featuring Nico Santos and Nea, which both form part of his These Cities Project.

An already loved and celebrated track, it is outshining itself with a new series of duets, which launched firstly with award-winning artist Anne-Marie and then renowned American country singer songwriter Kane Brown. Two new reworked versions launch today with German artist and producer Nico Santos and Swedish songwriter and recording artist Nea.

Nico Santos, one of Germany’s most successful acts, has worked with the likes of Topic, Robin Schulz and Shindy, and at just 27 years of age, he has gathered a total of almost 500 million audio/video streams. He also was the most played artist on German radio in 2018, in front of international superstars like Ed Sheeran or Pink, with more than 110,000 spins in one year alone. Speaking of the collaboration, he says; “I’ve known Sam since 2015. We were writing in LA for other artists and we connected instantly. He showed me his first EP 2 or 3 years ago and I fell in love with it. I’m more than honoured to be a part in his incredible journey with This City. A song I can connect with so much, as I moved from a little island in Spain to the crazy city of Berlin.”

Nea recently released her debut EP ‘Some Say’, featuring the single of the same name, which was released in September 2019 and has surpassed 150 million audio streams, reaching Gold, Platinum or Double Platinum in nearly 10 countries. As a songwriter, Nea has contributed in shaping Swedish pop history over the past 5 years, credited to hits which have accumulated more than 1 billion streams to date and writing for artists like Zara Larsson, Tove Styrke, Tinie Tempah, ALMA and Axwell. Nea says; “I’ve been a fan of This City and Sam Fischer’s voice for a while, so when I was asked to do a feature on the song it was a big honour and a no brainer for me. The day I wrote and recorded my verse for the new edit, I was super hungover after a long night out and doubting if I would actually be able to give the song justice and express what I wanted. But I think my mood that day actually blended perfectly with the song and made it feel very honest for me.

Discussing the collection of collaborations, Sam says; “The ‘These Cities Project’ is my way of thanking everyone for giving me the life I have now through their love and support of the song. I wanted to bring together artists from different cities across the world who I love and have them put their own experience/perspective into the second verse. I’ve received so many incredible messages about what This City means to people and so it’s my hope that with each version, you’ll be able to see and feel yourself in them.”

Australian born Sam Fischer first introduced himself with his Not A Hobby EP and has garnered incredible attention through his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Touring North America with his friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and pure love and talent for song-writing. Now based in LA, he not only has received acclaim for his own work, but he continues to solidify his spot as one of the hottest current writers, having worked with global pop superstars including Ciara, Louis Tomlinson, Jessie J and many more.

After months of couch-surfing and struggling to keep his marriage alive across two continents, he finally and deservedly received his break and This City is just the amazing start of an exciting new chapter in Sam’s career.
