“We really enjoyed working with Gerry on The Miracle Of Great Homer Street last year and when we started talking about Yellow Breck Road he was the first choice to write it. He has a gift for capturing family life no matter what the setting so I think that the audience will enjoy this one!”
“The reason his words rang so true with me,” says Burrows, “is that the darkness of life is so important to filter, and take on board, and put back out – but these songs all have a trim of colour and an optimistic flare.”
“The show had a wonderful reception when it was initially staged in Edinburgh, Salford and London. We tried to tell a personal story of human struggle, but fill it with music, movement and humour. And we can’t wait to pick up our instruments, get our sweatbands on and bring it to new audiences across the country in 2019!”
Trevor Horn has shared Dancing In The Dark, his collaboration with Gabrielle Aplin. Taken from his upcoming album, Trevor Horn Reimagines the 80s, the track is the fourth to be released from the record.
“There’s a definite idea about the world being no longer habitable in the way that it was,” says Yannis. “A kind of perilousness lack of predictability and a feeling of being overwhelmed by the magnitudes of the problems we face. What’s the response? And what’s the purpose of any response that one individual can have?”
“As soon as I heard dodie’s song, Monster, it immediately put images of hulking beasts and snivelling goblins in my mind… I was keen to try to tell a story within this music video where the protagonist is actually kind of awful.”
