US comedian Abigoliah Schamaun takes her show on debut UK tour

“Damningly perceptive and very funny… she has a tightrope-treading ability the tightrope-treading ability the match of anything by Chris Rock or Bill Burr” The Scotsman

Critically acclaimed international comedian, Abigoliah Schamaun brings her hilariously intelligent comedy show Do You Know Who I Think I Am!? to the Soho Theatre on 5th and 6th August before heading out across the country on her debut UK tour from 27th September to 27th October.

Shes almost figured it all out. A former yoga instructor with surprisingly squishy thighs who identifies as heteronormative disguised as a luscious lady lover, Abigoliah grew up in the conservative corn-belt of mid-West America to become an unabashedly liberal London based comic. Shes a myriad of paradoxes and nothing is what it seems. So who is Abigoliah Schamaun? Who does Abigoliah Schamaun think she is? That’s simple. She’s the greatest comedian you’ve ever seen.

In this hour of stand-up comedy, Abigoliah takes the audience through her many hilarious anecdotes and quick fire gags while describing in detail how to be confident with three simple tricks, how to fix the gun problem of home-country America, the differences between male and female personal grooming, how to repurpose offensive words and make them great again and how she has the campest boyfriend ever. Nothing is off limits and everything is touched on with a wry smile and tongue firmly in cheek, which proves “it’s a beautiful time to be alive”.

Frank, funny, and unapologetic, Abigoliah’s success on the UK comedy scene began when she became a finalist in the Funny Women Comedy Awards 2010 and she has nine Edinburgh Festival Fringes under her belt, honing her skills and growing her audience. She was named “One to Watch at Leicester Comedy festival 2017 and The List named her “Top 5 Up and Coming Female Comedians.

Abigoliah has appeared in I Live With Models (Comedy Central) and Outrageously Funny Comedy (Channel 5). She has also been featured on BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, The Comedian’s Comedians Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, The Guilty Feminist Podcast and Global Pillage with Deborah Francis-White. She has opened for Top US comedians Jim Norton, Kyle Kinane, and French comedian Gad Emelah.
