A slow-burning acoustic ballad, “Settle Down” explores the fragile space between love and letting go, capturing the unresolved emotions that linger in the aftermath of a relationship. Built on stripped-back acoustic instrumentation and subtle atmospheric textures, the track gradually unfolds in intensity while maintaining a restrained, intimate core.
Led by Quigley’s heartfelt songwriting and understated vocal delivery, the single highlights his ability to balance raw vulnerability with melodic accessibility. Rooted in modern folk while drawing from classic singer-songwriter traditions, “Settle Down” signals a notable shift in both tone and sonic direction.
Speaking on the track, Quigley says: “‘Settle Down’ is where everything shifts. It’s a vulnerable, definitive end to something that once felt impossible to leave. The track is a raw, final goodbye, set apart by a sound that breaks from everything else on the EP.”
Following a busy start to 2026, the release continues to build momentum toward Quigley’s forthcoming EP, Is This a Problem Darling?, due later this summer via Cast Over Records. With its emotional clarity and stripped-back honesty, “Settle Down” further establishes him as one of the most compelling emerging voices in Ireland’s contemporary acoustic and indie folk scene.
