Just ahead of her debut US & European headline shows, girli has today released her incredibly relatable single, Imposter Syndrome. The thumping track, which was written during a spell of particularly bad mental health, complements girli’s honest and raw lyrics. Listen here.

The London-based artist has explained of the song, “I was overthinking everything, feeling like a fake, scared that I was an underachiever and that everybody knew it and was laughed behind my back about it. I kind of go through life feeling like everybody else has a guidebook, and I’m just making it up as I go and getting it wrong. This song is about wanting to run away because of that feeling and being so unsure of yourself it scares you.”

Collaborating once again with the highly regarded director Kassandra Powell, the video will premiere on YouTube, on 10th February.

Imposter Syndrome follows the successful launch of single I Really F**ked It Up, which has racked up 3 million combined streams. The stunning visuals, directed by Kassandra Powell, showcases girli as we’ve never seen her before. She performs full choreography alongside three dancers who embody the toxic parts of herself. Watch the video here.

girli’s new era-defining glam and wardrobe complement a stunning creative directed by the inspirational Fiona Garden (Wet Leg, Years & Years, Grimes and more). Milly Toomey (AKA girli) has been on an explorative journey of self-discovery, only to conclude that she can’t be boxed in. The singer-songwriter had been questioning who she was and had put so much pressure on knowing the answer, but soon realised it’s okay to not always know. To mark this epiphany, girli wrote the music she has always wanted to release.

girli is gearing up to kick off her F**ked It Up tour! Kicking things off at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on 9th March, she will make stops in Chicago and LA, before working her way around cities in Europe. The pop songstress will also appear at SXSW in Austin, Texas. girli will then wrap the tour up in the UK, playing Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and finish things up at London’s Scala on 26thApril. Showing no signs of slowing down, girli will also support Alt-J on five of their US dates. Full details can be found below, and tickets are on sale here.

Following the successful launch of her most unapologetically pop era yet last year, girli headlined two sold out nights at Hoxton’s Folklore, in October. This gave fans the rare and special opportunity to see girli play up close and personal, at an extremely intimate venue.
