With the scorch marks of “Late Night Drinking” still fresh on the ground, CHARLIE CLARK adds fuel to the fire with an exclusive RED FLAME mix of the single.

Calling on long-time buddy Paul Wilson of Snow Patrol, the title-track of Clark’s upcoming debut solo album gets a supersonic boost and a stadium-sized finish to become something altogether more muscular in sound.

Streaming everywhere on 24 June, you can listen to the track now here:

Speaking about the pair’s close relationship and how the collaboration came about, Charlie Clark says:

“I’ve known Pabs for over 20 years and would walk through the mists of Avalon for that man! We lived in LA during the same period and worked on loads of music (as of yet unreleased). We’ve played in bands together, toured together but we’re pals first and foremost so this collaboration came about purely down to mid-Covid boredom!”

An incendiary rush of alternative-rock, “Late Night Drinking” is the first single to be released on Clark’s recently announced independent label: No Big Deal Music. With a mission statement to release independent music from the Scottish Highlands and Islands in which he currently lives, as well as the finest sounds to have caught his ear from wider world. Alongside the release of the Red Flame mix of “Late Night Drinking”, Clark has enlisted a stellar roster of signees to the Big Deal label including: The Sea Atlas, Clarke & The Himselfs and Scott C Park – more music from which can be expected in the coming weeks…

One of Scotland’s best-kept musical secrets, Charlie Clark is a multi-talented songwriter, musician, promoter and more. First rising to prominence as a founding member of acclaimed Glasgow indie-pop foursome Astrid, Clark has been a pro-active presence in the underground music scene for over two decades. From his role in Scottish supergroup The Reindeer Section to his own projects Broken Arrow and MJ12, Clark has earned a cult status amongst public and peers alike, becoming a go-to guest musician to the likes of Mogwai, Arab Strap and Snow Patrol in the process.

Going solo with some of his most impassioned and personal material to date, latest single “Late Night Drinking” is a fine case in point and a taster of what’s to come. Produced by Jason Shaw (Cambodian Space Project) and mastered by Mark Gardener from RIDE, “Late Night Drinking” also features Calum Buchanan (The Sea Atlas) and was recorded in Uig on the Isle of Skye.
