London based singer-songwriter Pierre Da Silva makes his eagerly anticipated return with the captivating new single ‘Say You Do’, out on all streaming services on 2nd June.

With a voice described as “made for soul”, ‘Say You Do’ shows Pierre at his most authentic yet. Written from the viewpoint of missing someone so deeply but not being able to be with them, the track highlights Pierre’s talents as an accomplished songwriter and storyteller. With lockdown hitting all corners of the globe, this notion has never been more relatable.

Accompanied with a heartfelt, stirring vocal delivery and Pierre’s trademark delicate rasp, the track pulls from his influences within pop and indie music to craft contagiously soulful songs.

Speaking of the track, Pierre says, “The track was written from a place of longing. Longing for someone you miss, that you know has kind of moved on. Hoping that you still occupy some space somewhere in their heart. Hoping that in their odd quiet moments, they still think about you, because you can’t stop thinking about them.”

With years of writing under his belt, a recent tip by the MOBO awards, and having already shared stages with the likes of Little Simz, Che Lingo and Rukhsana Merrisse, Pierre’s star is set to continue to rise in the coming months.

ABOUT PIERRE DA SILVA

Citing influences like Donny Hathaway, Lauryn Hill and Lianne La Havas, Pierre has managed to carve out a name for himself in other spheres, releasing music in 2017, via the ‘formidable’ drum and bass duo the Brookes Brothers’ highly anticipated second album ‘Orange Lane’. He wrote and featured on ‘Times of Trouble’ and closing track ‘We Got Love’, both receiving plays on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1Xtra, introducing the wider world to Pierre’s incredible voice.

BBC London continues to support this new and exciting talent with the BBC Introducing team also playing ‘Tell Me’ on their Saturday show and most recently naming it their #RewindOfTheWeek. Presenter Jess Iszatt said “we played this track a couple of weeks ago, it made such waves that we have decided it’s our Rewind of the Week”, later saying “Just simply loving the sound, very catchy as well …kicking off the show nice and strong with Pierre Da Silva”.

Other stations like Hoxton Radio, Westside FM, DejaVuFM, have supported his recent releases. Alongside radio support, Pierre has also received great press. Most recently ‘Tell Me’ was featured in UPROXX magazine’s best R&B releases alongside Chloe x Halle and Jorja Smith and made Noctis magazine’s ‘Best of the Week’ playlist alongside Tiggs Da Author and Dolapo. As said by presenter Jess Iszatt, “an exciting new artist, Pierre Da Silva, remember that name”. MOBO Awards will definitely remember that name as he’s just been announced as a winner of the 2020 MOBOxHelpMusicians fund.
