Pop icon Doja Cat has unveiled her long-awaited new album Planet Her, out now.

Following on from 2019’s Hot Pink, Planet Her is a star-studded, 14-track release that sees Doja collaborate with some of the biggest names in music. On ‘Payday’, her fluttering vocals combine with futuristic production and a trademark autotune verse from hip-hop luminary Young Thug. Atlanta rapper J.I.D. then stars on the hypnotic ‘Options’, while fellow pop sensation Ariana Grande then makes an appearance on ‘I Don’t Do Drugs’, a smooth R&B jam that sees the pair trade playful vocals.

‘You Right’, the album’s focus single featuring chart-topper The Weeknd, channels similarly sensual energy. With a video drop set to coincide with the release of the LP, the track will be crowned ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Annie Mac, has been named ‘Tune of the Weekend’ on the same station and has been playlisted by Radio 1, Kiss FM and Kiss Fresh.

Doja’s revered recent single ‘Need To Know’, a track that has amassed 20 million Spotify streams in less than a week, also features, before things are closed out by hit single ‘Kiss Me More’ featuring multi-platinum neo-soul talent SZA, a single that has spent 10 weeks in the Top 10 of OCC and is fast approaching Gold status. The track has been A-listed at Capital FM, Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1.

Planet Her advertising visuals are set to be projected all across London to coincide with the album release, while Amazon Music has teamed up with the esteemed Metropolis Studios to host an experiential album playback in Dolby Atmos audio. Meanwhile, Apple Music has already crowned it as this week’s ‘Hot New Album’.

Starting out in 2013, the LA native began cultivating an organic online fanbase, posting her first track at just 16-years-old and eventually building a large following via her Soundcloud page. This digital fanbase helped Doja reach the masses, capturing the internet’s attention with every release.

Fast forward seven years and in 2020 she took home the ‘Best New Artist’ award at the MTV VMAs, the MTV EMAs, and the AMAs (where she additionally won the ‘Best Female Soul/R&B Artist’ award). She has also been nominated for three Grammys, four American Music Awards, four MTV VMA Awards, two BET Awards, and two People’s Choice Awards.

Her most significant body of work to date, Planet Her is destined to cement Doja Cat’s status within the upper echelons of pop.
