BRIT nominated DJ and producer Regard has shared a brand new dancefloor creeper ‘No Sleep’ with chart topping, multi-platinum selling artist Ella Henderson. The track is out now via Ministry of Sound, stream here.
‘No Sleep’ is the perfect pairing of moody trance-inspired synths driven by Ella’s soulful vocals, addressing moving past a lost love. The disco inflected chorus glistens, and is a testament to Regard’s penchant for crafting compelling dance tracks with infectious and nuanced melodies.
Speaking further about the track, Regard says “I started creating the beginnings of what would become ‘No Sleep’ last summer. I was so consumed by making the track, I didn’t realise that by the end of my session, it was morning. I worked my way through the entire night on this song. Ironically, it went on to become ‘No Sleep’ thanks to Ella’s incredible performance on the track”
Ella adds “I’m so excited to have collaborated with Regard on ‘No Sleep’. It feels so empowering to sing such a defiant lyric over such a feel good record! I believe many people will relate to this song & I think having more upbeat records with a strong & powerful message is something we all need right now! I’m excited for this one & I can’t wait to perform it live together at some point!!”
It was by accident that REGARD found his stage name. The word, “regardé,” came to the DJ during French class in high school. “To see” became the core behind Regard’s music. “When I perform,” he says, “I look at the people and how they feel the music.” For REGARD, his deep house mixes consist not only of sound, but also of sight. Performance is a reciprocal and intimate relationship between the DJ and the audience.
Bursting onto the scene 11 years ago with a No. 1 debut single (‘Ghost’) and album (‘Chapter One’), Ella Henderson has since ascended to a multi-platinum selling, BRIT and Ivor Novello Award nominee, with over a billion streams to her name – all by the age of 27. A hit songwriter and powerhouse vocalist, Ella has collaborated with musical luminaries including Ryan Tedder and Babyface, as well as superstar DJs including Sigma and Kygo.
