After releasing their Grammy nominated album Lucifer On The Sofa to critical acclaim last year, Spoon have announced they will return to the UK for a very special headline date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on Tuesday June 20th with opening act Es. The show comes ahead of the band’s run of arena shows supporting The Black Keys.

Speaking of the show, lead singer Britt Daniel said, “our June 20 show at Islington Assembly Hall will be the first proper Spoon show in London since All Points East in 2018 and the first chance we’ll get to play Londoners songs from our wicked LP ‘Lucifer On The Sofa.’ It’ll also be Benny’s birthday and he’s requesting that in lieu of gifts you bring him flowers.

Tickets for the band’s headline show at Islington Assembly Hall go on-sale Thursday March 23rd at 10am GMT HERE.

Released in February 2022, Lucifer on the Sofa is Spoon’s purest rock ’n roll record to date. Texas-made, it is the first set of songs that the quintet has put to tape in its hometown of Austin in more than a decade. Written and recorded over the last two years – both in and out of lockdown – the songs mark a shift toward something louder, wilder, and more full-colour.
