Late last year The Jordan emerged from out of nowhere, as her debut track ‘You Don’t Even Know Me’ exceeded a million streams and possessed the voice, the poise and the class of a seasoned artist. And yet here was a newcomer with the confidence to let the quality of her music speak for itself, keeping a minimalist social media profile and revealing nothing about her background. Everything was revealed alongside her third track ‘The Room’: The Jordan being the freshly empowered and inspired new artistic identity of Caroline van der Leeuw, the voice behind the chart-topping, Platinum-certified Caro Emerald.

‘TEMPTATION’ – LISTEN HERE

Each release from The Jordan has seen Caroline embrace a bold reinvention, blending dark, cinematic pop with lyrical vulnerabilities and an assertive new statement of intent. Her reinvigorated power continues today as she shares her latest track ‘Temptation’ along with its official video ahead of the February 10th release of ‘Nowhere Near The Sky’.

‘Temptation’ opens with the striking control of The Jordan’s voice, spaciously supported by ambient electro atmospherics. And then it bursts into life, with punchy trip-hop beats, serrated guitars courtesy of Portishead’s Adrian Utley and a rush of high intensity melody. The Jordan is naturally the star attraction, forthrightly announcing what she wants and fully expecting to get it – whether it’s sex, drums or a bad-ass reputation. But as much as rebellion is important, her demands are also at times balanced by regular day-to-day needs. ‘Temptation’ is The Jordan’s latest collaboration with the  the Ivor Novello winning producer David Kosten.

The Jordan says, “‘Temptation’ is a song I wrote for all women and everyone who identifies as such. It describes our need to be part of the game, and to win it, as well as shamelessly following our desires. Yes, we can have it all.”
