The Head and The Heart share the song ‘Tiebreaker’ ahead of their forthcoming fifth studio album, ‘Every Shade of Blue’ which arrives on April 29th. ‘Tiebreaker’ follows the band’s recently releases new songs ‘Virginia (Wind in the Night)’ and the album’s title track.

The band’s vocalist/guitarist Jonathan Russell says, “‘Tiebreaker’ is like a carnival ride through a wide variety of characters and relationships: lovers laughing uncontrollably, a married couple bickering, teenagers falling for each other in the moment. It makes you wonder – what do we all have in common?”

The Head and The Heart recently returned to ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ to perform ‘Every Shade of Blue’ and ‘Virginia (Wind In The Night)’. Both tracks have made a big impact. ‘Every Shade of Blue’ has exceeded 3.9 million streams in the US, while ‘Virginia (Wind In The Night)’ has passed 2.2 million US streams. The song is currently at #3 on AAA radio and is climbing alternative radio too.

‘Every Shade of Blue’ was produced by the Grammy Award-winning  Jesse Shatkin (Sia, Pink, The Shins, Tegan and Sara), except for the album tracks ‘Shadows’, ‘Don’t Show Your Weakness’ and ‘Love We Make’, which were produced by Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver), and ‘Paradigm’, which was produced by John Hill and Sammy Witte (Florence + The Machine, Portugal. The Man, Cage The Elephant), and mastered by Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge, NY.

Initially self-released in 2011, The Head and The Heart’s self-titled breakout debut produced instant classics including ‘Rivers and Roads’, ‘Down In The Valley’ and ‘Lost In My Mind’, and was certified Gold. 2013’s ‘Let’s Be Still’ and 2016’s ‘Signs of Light’ reached Billboard’s Top 10 albums chart, with ‘Signs of Light’ also hitting #1 on the Rock Album Charts. The album also featured the band’s first #1 Alternative hit with the single ‘All We Ever Knew’.

The band’s fourth full-length album, ‘Living Mirage’, was released to critical praise in 2019, and provided another Alternative #1 hit with ‘Missed Connection’. The album’s breakout track ‘Honeybee’ became a fan favourite with a total of 153 million streams, peaking at a million streams a week.

The Heart And The Heart appeared in Cameron Crowe’s television series ‘Roadies’, while ‘Lost In My Mind’ featured in the trailer to ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. The band have performed fifteen times on high profile US TV shows, including ‘Ellen’, ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and ‘Austin City Limits’. A touring powerhouse, the band have landed prime mainstage slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, while their previous UK shows have included a headline set at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park on a bill headlined by Tom Petty, and Latitude.
