Ethereal experimental pop storyteller Wendy Bevan returns with her first album in 10 years, Alone With The Unknown, produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. Alongside the album, is
the release of focus track “Violet”. Listen to the album and new single here.

‘Violet’ blends rich electronic layers with Bevan’s distinctive vocals, creating a dark and immersive soundscape that shifts between tension and release. The track captures the struggle to escape a haunting presence, where beauty and threat blur together, and the past refuses to stay buried.

Speaking on ‘Violet’, Wendy says: “Violet is the essence of the night. She moves through us like a secret, intoxicating, and impossible to hold.”

Speaking on the album, Wendy says: “Alone With The Unknown asks us to sit within uncertainty, surrender to feeling, and allow ourselves to be carried away by longing, desire and the mystery of what remains unknown. For me, an album should feel like stepping through a doorway into another world. The tension between the intimate
and the infinite is what ties the album together”.

The album explores the idea that we are part of something greater than ourselves. Drawing from personal stories, faded memories, the softness of forgotten language and shared human experiences, the songs balance intimacy with a sense of wonder. Each track unfolds within a cinematic landscape, adorned with shimmering chords of longing, mystery and desire, elevated by sweeping orchestral arrangements that transport the listener beyond the everyday and into a world that feels both familiar and otherworldly.

A lifelong admirer of film noir, classic European cinema, and theatrical elegance, Bevan channels these influences throughout both her music and visual storytelling. Produced by Nick Rhodes, Alone With The Unknown explores themes of connection, commitment, love, and the unknown spaces between certainty and desire. The album also builds upon Bevan’s creative partnership with Rhodes, following their acclaimed Astronomia project released in 2021.
