JC Stewart’s current single ‘Break My Heart’ has delivered another big moment in the rising star’s ascent. Co-written with Niall Horan, it hit a remarkable 37 New Music Friday playlists at Spotify when it was released last month. His flying start to 2021 also saw him named as MTV’s first global Push artist of the year, while earning fresh airplay at Radio 1 and Radio 2. It all contributed to him exceeding 4 million monthly listeners at Spotify.
JC now shares a new live session recording of ‘Break My Heart’ along with an Amazon Original version of the song. Listen HERE. While the original was a propulsive rush of alt-pop energy, this stripped back version shows that JC’s stellar songwriting is the beating heart of everything he does. It puts a new emphasis on the raw emotion of the lyrics, while the power of his voice encapsulates its inner heartbreak.
The performance was filmed at the historic Collins’ Music Hall in Islington, London, and filmed by JC’s regular visual collaborator Jackson Ducasse. Watch HERE.
The Northern Irish musician has been winning admirers for his world class voice, revealing and relatable songwriting, and an engaging, self-deprecating sense of humour. It’s a cocktail that’s really connecting with fans, who are eager to interact and spread the world of his talents at social media. He enjoyed a huge viral moment last year when Jennifer Aniston shared his quarantine-themed twist on the ‘Friends’ theme last year, while January alone saw him add 33,000 followers across his social media channels.
JC is also being embraced as a collaborator by a growing list of leading artists. In addition to working with Niall Horan, he co-wrote ‘Hollywood’ from Lewis Capaldi’s smash hit debut album and co-wrote his debut EP ‘When The Light Hits The Room’ with the BRIT / Ivor Novello winner Tom Odell. He also reached a whole new audience when he teamed up with 220 Kid for ‘Too Many Nights’.
The original version of ‘Break My Heart’ will also represent JC’s first ever vinyl release. Set to be released on February 12th, the 7” single will be packaged with a signed photo and is available to pre-order here.
