The award-winning, multi-Platinum selling music icons Sugababes announce their highly anticipated brand new album, Sugababes, arriving 12 February 2027 via Sacred Three/The Orchard. The first single from the upcoming record, ‘Ghost’, is available on DSPs now.
Written by Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan, alongside a hand-picked group of some of the UK’s most exciting songwriters and producers, the forthcoming 12-track self-titled album explores new emotional and sonic territory, with a collection of songs that feel immediate and honest. Introducing the new album is ‘Ghost’, written by Sugababes with Grammy-winner Jon Shave (Charli xcx, Jessie Ware, Zara Larsson) and BRIT Award-winner Wayne Hector (Nicki Minaj, Tate McRae). The trio deliver a scathing kiss-off to an ex over a head-knocking musical backdrop, exploring the complicated space between letting go and being unable to fully escape, and the feeling of being haunted by the traces someone leaves behind. The accompanying video, directed by Thomas James, will be released later today, 24 Sept at 5pm BST here.
Across an album that flits effortlessly from garage (the bubbling ‘Modern Love’), Amapiano (‘After All’’s tactile longing), sweaty dance anthems (‘Scorpio’’s gloriously messy club tales) and the plush orchestral highs of ‘Love Language’, the anchoring factor is always the three women at the heart of the band. Their harmonies form the thread that runs through the album, with all vocals produced by Mutya, Keisha, and Siobhan themselves.
Last year Sugababes dropped three tracks – the garage, drum’n’bass, R&B and alt-pop melange, ‘Jungle’; the atmospheric R&B ballad, ‘Weeds’, which was nominated for a prestigious Ivor Novello award; and the unadulterated banger, ‘Shook’, all of which appear on the new record.
