What is there for kids?

Away from the live music, there will be a whole host of activities available for young attendees in the children’s activities area. On each day between 12-5pm, little Splendours can design and print their own t-shirts with Pop-Up Printmaking, learn circus skills with Dapper Dom, take part in BeatFeet’s drumming and dance workshops, and singalong to Rainbow Stripes’ interactive music sessions, plus more.

Across the park there will be roaming fringe entertainers, from stilt walkers and live poetry to yoga and a cappella performances. The funfair will be back, and on Saturday will be Gem’s extremely popular Weekend Anthems silent disco, a great activity for the whole family.

New this year, the Trent Rockets will be attending Splendour. Families will have the chance to test their cricket skills against the Trent Rockets players and get some top tips from Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club’s coaches, who will be running a cricket activation area based near the Funfair to the right of the Main Stage.

What about food and drink?

Attendees can bring a picnic with sealed plastic bottles but alcohol, glass and cans are not allowed. Chairs and blankets are allowed, but not permitted between the stage and mixing desk.

For those who don’t want to picnic, there will be a wide range of more than 20 food vendors on site at Splendour this year, with choices from burgers, ice cream, pizzas, award-winning fine dining Indian cuisine, fish and chips, vegan, veggie and healthy food offering. Experience the very best of local including award winning fine dining Indian cuisine at MemSaab, indulge on Nottingham Farmed Gourmet Burgers, pick up a delicious sushi bowl from Pokewaves, and Nottingham reared Hog and Roast, all washed down with a tasty unique blend of 200 Degrees coffee from one of Boxed Drinks’ unique mobile bars, fitted in repurposed vehicles.

There will be no need to queue for drinks tokens this year either, with contactless payments being the preferred option.

Will there be water available?

Dotted around the site are multiple water stations where festival goers can refill their bottles throughout the day. Free tap water is also available at the on-site bars.

How can I get there?

The best option is public transport. Nottingham City Transport will be providing a frequent service between the city centre and Wollaton Park and back, making it the easiest way to get to and from the festival.

Festival goers can either use Pink 30 for the Wollaton Road entrance or Orange 35/36 for the Derby Road entrance, which are both easily accessible to the Festival entrance. The recommended city centre bus stop is on Milton Street, by the intu Victoria Centre.

Towards the end of Splendour, starting from 21:00, Pink 30 will operate from inside Wollaton Park from a dedicated event bus stop with marshalled queue lanes with high capacity services direct to the city centre, dropping off on Talbot Street, South Sherwood Street and Victoria Centre.

For anyone arriving by train, walking distance to the NCT bus stop is a 15-minute walk.

What’s the best way to get on-site quickly?

The main pedestrian entry gate is the Wollaton Road entrance. Attendees can also enter via Limetree Avenue (off Middleton Boulevard) or the Beeston Lodge entrance (off Derby Road A52) if they already have their tickets.

Is there parking provided?

Day parking is provided on the site at £10. The entrance is via Limetree Avenue off Middleton Boulevard (Ring Road). The car park will open at 11:00 and close at midnight. Blue-badge parking is available in the gravel car park at the top of the main driveway, which is accessed from the main entrance off Wollaton Road.

What time should I arrive?

The on-site box office will open at 10:30am on both days. The festival site will open at 11:00am, with the first act performing on Saturday at 12:30pm. On Sunday, the first act is on at 11:30am.

What time does it finish?

The event is expected to finish at 10:30pm.

How do I find my way round Splendour?

The festival organiser has released a map on its website to help attendees find their way round the site.

What about toilets?

There are multiple toilet locations around the site which are marked on the site map, so don’t join the first queue you see as there may be quieter toilet locations elsewhere.

Do I need my suncream?

Coming as a welcome relief to attendees after the recent heatwave, the forecast is set for sunshine in the mid-twenties. Attendees are advised to check the forecast before leaving for Splendour and equip themselves accordingly.
