Foreword marks a fresh start for Keath Óskas as the re-record songs were originally released under Yaelokre, using their real name and identity. A rare case of an artist’s first single already rising as a fan favorite, the newly re-imagined take of “And the Hound” expands the original’s subtle beauty into a richer sonic landscape. Ósk’s shape-shifting vocals and staccato rhymes transform the once-delicate track into a beast, trading gentle acoustics for a world-music swing and a beguiling, desert-noir brass backdrop.
Keath Ósk will embark on a world headline tour kicking off October 7 in Europe, followed by a North American leg beginning November 9 at Orlando, FL. Running through late December, highlights include stops at New York City’s Webster Hall (Nov 22) and Los Angeles’s Fonda Theatre (Dec 15).The upcoming run brings Ósk expanded and newfound creative freedom to the stage, building on the momentum of Yaelokre’s instantly sold-out US live debut last year, which packed back-to-back nights at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom and L.A.’s Masonic Lodge. Keath Ósk has now re-imagined these extraordinary tales under it’s own name. The shift from Yaelokre’s omniscient narrator to the first-person perspective of Ósk adds a new, deeply personal resonance to the already beloved songs, transforming mythical folklore into relatable truths. Working with South London–based writer, producer and composer Jack Hardman (a.k.a. Good Dog), Ósk expanded the sonic parameters of their music, infusing the original folk melodies with brass bands, woodwinds, and textures inspired by alt-pop, hip-hop, and jazz.
