London-based cross-genre punk band MILLIE MANDERS AND THE SHUTUP, known for their ferociously joyous live shows, grinding guitars, irresistible horns and pop appeal, have announced a new single and UK tour. Championed by BBC Introducing, Radio X and Vive Le Rock, the band is gearing up for the release of the new track, SHUT YOUR MOUTH, on 6 October.
The eagerly awaited new single serves as a follow-on to the recent track Rebound and a prelude to their second album, scheduled for release in 2024. Powerhouse vocalist Millie describes Shut Your Mouth as a track that delves into the concept of “fair-weather friends”, highlighting those individuals who only reach out when they want something from you.
With their dynamic sound and candid lyrics, the band explores themes like loss, betrayal, anxiety, heartbreak, environmental concerns and political unrest, all while exuding the prowess and punk attitude that sets the band apart.
Millie Manders and The Shutup have built a strong reputation through their versatile discography, including their debt album Telling Truths, Breaking Ties and a hugely popular cover of the Little Mix hit Sweet Melody. Their live performances have graced stages at notable festivals like Slam Dunk, Bearded Theory, North West Calling, Rebellion, Kendal Calling and Boomtown, and they’ve supported acts such as Less Than Jake and Ferocious Dog.
