FENCES Shares New Lyric Video Of ‘Paper Route’

Seattle native FENCES, the moniker of musician/songwriter Christopher Mansfield will be releasing the Deluxe version of his 3rd album ‘Failure Sculptures’ on March 12th 2021 via ENCI.  Pre-order the album HERE.  The Deluxe is laced with two extra unheard acoustic tracks. Perhaps most well-known for his collaborations with Tegan and Sara (who produced his 2010 self-titled debut album) Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and Macklemore (who he’s teamed up with on various tracks), ‘Failure Sculptures’ will be his first new LP since 2015’s ‘Lesser Oceans’

Today he releases a lyric video for the second single ‘Paper Route’ which was premiered by Week In Pop or view it HERE.  Describing the track Mansfield says “Paper Route” is essentially putting prose to a memory. Everything in the song happened as it was sung. Behind the flowers and idioms of course. I’ve written hundreds of songs but I actually do like this one quite a bit. As far as the album as a whole and my feelings on that now…I won’t lie there is a degree or embarrassment just for the sheer fact that all the songs are prose to memory. You’re never supposed to read someone’s diary right? That is unless they sell it.

FENCES will be releasing a new EP of songs slated for release this spring.
