Skye Newman is an English singer-songwriter born on 9 November 2003 in South East London. Raised as the youngest of six children on council estates, she moved frequently between areas including Bromley, Eltham, New Eltham, Orpington, Bexleyheath, and Gravesend in Kent. Her early life involved temporary housing and exposure to challenging family circumstances, including drug abuse and grief, themes that later shaped her songwriting. She discovered her vocal talent at age six while performing Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” at a school concert. An aunt who sang jazz and blues introduced her to songwriting and studio work, while influences such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, Bob Marley, and Eminem informed her blend of neo soul, R&B, pop, and indie rock.

Newman’s professional breakthrough came in 2025. Her debut single “Hairdresser,” released in March, entered the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number 15 in April. Follow-up releases, including “Family Matters,” “Out Out,” “FU & UF,” and “Lonely Girl,” built momentum. She became the first UK female solo artist in over a decade to land two top-twenty debut singles consecutively. Her debut EP SE9 Part 1 arrived in October 2025, drawing from her postcode and personal experiences. A second part of the project is scheduled for release in May 2026. Her music features raw, honest storytelling about relationships, family dynamics, friendship, and working-class life in South London. In 2026, Newman launched The Woman I Am Tour, which has become a major highlight of her rising career. The UK and Ireland leg began in mid-April with shows that sold out rapidly, prompting additional dates in Liverpool and Dublin. Confirmed stops include:

The European leg follows with performances in Paris (La Bellevilloise, 23 April), Amsterdam (Melkweg, 25 April), and Cologne (Die Kantine, 26 April), among others. Further dates extend into May, with festival appearances such as Lollapalooza Chicago in late July and the Reading and Leeds Festivals in late August. Additional UK shows and international opportunities continue through the year.

The tour supports her growing catalogue and reflects the strong fan demand that greeted her early singles and EP. Newman performs with a focus on vocal delivery and lyrical directness, turning personal narratives into shared moments. As of April 2026, she continues to build on her swift ascent, connecting with audiences through music rooted in resilience and authenticity. Her live dates demonstrate both the scale of her current momentum and the breadth of her appeal across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and North America.
